Is this considered False Advertising?

As unethical as it is as long as they actually do give it away free at some point its not false advertising. They could give it away to only the first 5 people and it still wouldn't be false. It is your responsibility to know the terms of the promotion. You don't have very much claim, if any. Just do your best to get the extension within the two week period. Them giving it away for free at all is a gift from the company. They didn't have to give it away at all.
