How do i Disable hardware acceleration in Catalyst control Center?

When i try to disable hardware acceleration in the Display>Advanced>troubleshooting tab, it is all grayed out. I want to do this because i want to play minecraft, and i got suggested that i need to disable DirectDraw and Direct3D or something, but i can't, as specified.
