In Pokemon Black, if I see a shiny pokemon in the wild that uses a self-faint move, can it be re-encountered?

The other day while training in the Giant Chasm, I encountered a shiny Lunatone. I was extremely happy but too scared to use a move because I didn't want it to faint yet my pokeballs wouldn't capture it. Out of the blue it used explode and fainted. Is there any way to recover that pokemon, or at least specify its shiny form in the Global Trade Center?
